GOT A BOARD?
Forty-four years of sunlight, house moves and attic storage do unkind things to plastic. The board inside is usually fine. The case rarely is.
Ours are moulded to the 1982 dimensions, so an original 48K board drops straight in — no drilling, no filing, no persuading. It is the same shape it always was, only without the crack across the corner and the yellowing that thirty summers on a windowsill will do.
Two finishes: matt black, as it was in the photographs, or smoked translucent, for the machine you would rather look at than hide.
It fits, once a cut-out is made at the back for the connectors. That part is straightforward with a steady hand and half an afternoon — and that part is yours to do.
We supply the case. The cutting, the fitting and the swearing at tiny screws remain the owner’s privilege, as tradition demands.
If you would rather not take a blade to anything, buy the machine assembled instead. We will not judge you for it.
