Its design, though aged today, is very similar and has comparable capabilities to modern microcontrollers found in Arduino-type kits: it is equipped with an 8-bit processor, 48 KB of RAM, a built-in BASIC language, and an edge connector to which external peripherals can be connected.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mumio.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/ZXSpectrum48k.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mumio.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/ZXSpectrum48k-1024x752.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-166\" width=\"462\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mumio.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/ZXSpectrum48k-1024x752.png 1024w, https:\/\/mumio.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/ZXSpectrum48k-300x220.png 300w, https:\/\/mumio.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/ZXSpectrum48k-768x564.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">ZX Spectrum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>The original 1980s version of the ZX Spectrum however, has several drawbacks: it only works with televisions, programs are loaded from a cassette recorder, and the computer doesn&#8217;t even have a power switch or a RESET button.<\/p>\n\n<p>However&#8230;<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8230;all these imperfections have been eliminated in modern clones of this computer.
